Waterproof polypropylene material

Highly durable plastic vinyl material. Tear, scratch and UV resistant. Ideal if liquid contact is possible, or you just want high durability. Recyclable.

Available with these finishes:

  • Uncoated – No lamination, giving a middle-ground finish between gloss and matt.
  • Gloss lamination – A shiny finish with even more durability thanks to the laminate coating.
  • Matt lamination – A silky finish. Also with more durability due to the lamination.

Both lamination options add a 10% additional charge.

Paper material

Premium paper stock that’s not waterproof or as strong as vinyl, but still holds up well to light abrasion such as being regularly handled. It’s also a lower cost than waterproof polypropylene. Recyclable and biodegradable.

Available with these finishes:

  • Gloss finish – Shiny
  • Matt finish – Silky.
🞬

Clear

Printed on transparent waterproof plastic with the following options:

Choose the print direction

Normal print has the adhesive on the back and the design on the front. Reverse print has the design on the adhesive side, so it can be stuck onto a transparent surface (like a window) and show the design on the opposite side of the glass. If in doubt, normal print is most likely what you require.

Choose the adhesive

Standard adhesive has a strong hold designed for permanent use. Low tack adhesive is better for temporary use as it’s easier to remove.

Would you like white ink?

Coloured inks printed on clear plastic can be semi-opaque. With white ink, we’ll print a layer of white underneath the printed parts of your design to make them more vibrant. You should also choose this option if you want any parts of your design printed in visible white (such as white text).

Choose a finish
  • Standard finish – No lamination, giving a middle-ground finish between gloss and matt.

How vinyl vehicle stickers can benefit you

Vehicle sticker printing has been used as a form of promotion for decades, and it’s not hard to see why. If you’re driving around every day to and from a place of work, then your car or van is a prime piece of advertising real estate which you can use to promote your brand or special offer.

It’s what tradespeople, such as plumbers, have been doing for years. They often use van stickers or bumper stickers to include their business name, logo, list of services and contact details across their van. When driving, this can literally be seen by THOUSANDS of people every week! They’re a brilliant form of brand promotion and also put your business in front of potential customers when they may need it most.

However, vehicle stickers aren’t just for trade businesses. They can literally be used for any form of business promotion. If you have a car or van for business commuting, then you can use them to turn it into your very own branded billboard. It’s very easy and very cheap with Discount Sticker Printing.

Another great use is to promote a special offer. For example, you can create custom vehicle stickers which showcase your latest prices or latest eye-grabbing special deal. You can then drive around or even park your car in a key area with lots of passing footfall. It’s like having your very own mobile billboard!

The ability to choose your very own shape and size with Discount Sticker Printing also means that we have stickers suitable for cars, vans, motorbikes, cycles and much more. Basically, if it moves, then we can create a sticker for it!

This makes it easy to provide the right sort of promotion for your vehicle. For example, if you have a car, then car sticker printing can be done on a smaller scale to fit perfectly across a side door, bonnet or boot. However, if you have a larger vehicle such as a van, then van sticker printing can be done much larger to fit the wide surface area of a side door. Our stickers can be created to perfectly suit what you’re looking for.

Alongside business promotion, our stickers also offer fantastic customisation purposes. For example, you can add completely custom vehicle stickers to your car, van or motorbike with your own artwork to create a really personalised look which fits your own tastes. If you can’t find decals with the right photograph or image, then simply create your own! Our stickers don’t have to just be used on the outside surface, but also the inside as well, with vinyl in car stickers perfect for uses such as dashboards, car window stickers and other internal surfaces.

No matter what you need, we’ve got you covered, so start your order by choosing from the options above.

Background

Vehicle stickers are the most widely seen type of sticker in the world. Research carried out by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) states that vehicle advertising boosts brand identification by as much as 15 times more than any other sort of advertising. These findings are supported by studies done in the USA by the Transportation sector of the Advertising Council, which discovered that individual vehicle advertising generates between 30,000 and 70,000 daily impressions.

They are used for commercial, religious, secular, humorous reasons or to show support of a sports team or other organisation. In the United States the bumper sticker is used as a way of showing your support for a political candidate. At election time nearly every car is showing its support for a political candidate.

Other parts of the world use them to show where they have been on holiday, or in support of a charity. Rear window stickers are popular around the world. Vehicle stickers have expanded to include vehicle decals, which are applied to a car's rear windshield, and the entire body of the car.

History

Vehicle stickers date roughly with the birth of the Ford Model A, in 1927, it was the first car to have a bumper. Although there was a form of bumper sticker shortly before World War II; which were flag-like, and attached using wires it was Forest P. Gill, a Kansas City based printer's replacement of the wire attachments with pressure sensitive adhesive, in the late 1930s, which resulted in bumper stickers became more far-flung and practical.

The first promotional use of bumper stickers was in the 1940s when staff at a tourist venue, Rock City, Tennessee began applying stickers to the bumpers of visitors’ cars. Though called "stickers", these bumper signs were really light, screen-printed card. They were connected with compressed aluminium strips, along through the end of the sign and wrapped around the bumper.

Raw Materials

Today they are made from lightweight soft PVC. PVC is the abbreviation of polyvinyl chloride, a plastic; it is one of the most used compounds in the world with virtually unaccountable applications. PVC is waterproof with a firm surface that does not easily peel or tear.

Manufacture

The vinyl used to make vehicle stickers comes in sizeable rolls that are pushed through a large-format printer/cutter. Designs are made using specific computer software and this information sent to the machines via cable link for production and cutting.

Using a repositional adhesive allows for ease of usage, and correct application adhesion into recesses for a professional finish. Printers employ solvent, eco solvent and latex inks. Vehicle stickers will usually last up to two years in extreme outdoor conditions.

Q. What can I use the vehicle stickers for?

Whilst many customers use them as car labels for personalisation purposes, one of the most effective uses is as promotional car stickers to advertise a business, brand or offer. Just imagine how many people might notice your advertising just by driving your car or van around. It could be thousands every week!

Many customers also use them as custom van stickers for a business livery, where they can get quality printed vinyl artwork, fully customised to their needs, without having to worry about expensive costs.

Q. Can I enter my own size measurements?

Yes! They will be cut to ANY size you choose. This means they can be large enough for custom van and truck stickers, or small enough for personalised car and bike stickers. Just make them fit whatever you need!

Q. Are they suitable for indoors and outdoors?

Yes! The vinyl material and eco-friendly solvent ink makes them fully weatherproof and UV resistant for outdoor or indoor use.

Q. Can I remove them?

Yes! Even though your stickers come with a strong permanent adhesive which is designed to stay stuck for years, they CAN be carefully removed if necessary and leave no residue behind.
